A Curated Art Show. What?

Laufen Bathrooms presents “A Curated Art Show. What?” featuring exclusive objects by world renowned architect and designers, curated by Beda Achermann.

The concept is based on a three-dimensional platform of art, a collection of high-tech, abstract, and craft objects. Adding to the artistic element, parts of the sculptures have been produced using new technologies, some of which are making a world premiere in ceramics. Its future orientation led Laufen to explore new manufacturing methods such as digital modelling and fabrication in different materials, working closely with an international network of universities, research institutes and academic spin-offs. Three pieces from this exhibit, which have previously been presented at prestigious events in Europe including Art Basel/Design Miami, Milan Design Week, London Design Festival and Vienna Design Week. Laufen during Design Miami will present 3 pieces of art at their showroom at Ironside.

Strong roots ensure one can continue to grow. From Switzerland to the world.

A designer’s noblest task is that of precision. We can create it.

We can't take credit for the mountains.  But everything else of which we are proud, we develop one step further every day.

Laufen have also partnered with YoungArts Miami for a special event during Miami Art Week 2017.

All visitors were welcome to a fascinating panel discussion between YoungArts master teachers and multidisciplinary artists Derrick Adams and Simon Haas and YoungArts President & CEO Carolina García Jayaram. The conversation was moderated by Surface Magazine’s Editor-in-Chief Spencer Bailey. Prior to the conversation in the Jewel Box, guests were invited to enjoy a tour of the gallery exhibition followed by breakfast.
