New York May 20-23 2018

This year, LAUFEN was in New York’s Javits Center, as part of ICFF from May 20-23. The booth was a unique adapation focused on the craftsmanship and tradition with which all LAUFEN products are made. It celebrated the excellence and high standards that have given them their longevity and recognition in the industry.

Laufen’s prominence in Europe furthered its continued ambition to bring to the US its remarkable and innovative products. During ICFF, the highlights have been some of their collections focused on the U.S. market, along with a number of bespoke projects – including their acclaimed work for hotel projects in New York City, among many others. Below are the product highlights that have been the prominent focus at this year’s ICFF booth.

INO by Toan Nguyen, made of SaphirKeramik
The creative synergy between Laufen and industrial designer Toan Nguyen, which began in 2011, led to the creation of the INO series. In the collection, the French designer explored the possibilities of working with SaphirKeramik, using the material’s subtlety and lightness to craft a simple, elegant aesthetic.

Nguyen reinterpreted the conventional shape of the washbasin with the aim of creating a practical and functional product. It is suitable for everyday use, but at the same time, features aesthetically attractive lines. This year Laufen is presenting INO ceramics in matt white, which accentuates the architectural lines even more.

Kartell by Laufen, design by Ludovica and Roberto Palomba
As a result of a partnership between Kartell's iconic design and Laufen's drive to innovate, the Kartell by Laufen collection includes a complete range of furnishings, accessories and sanitary ware, available in different finishes (including the new matte white). Already iconic, the freestanding washbasin features a line pattern or colored surfaces; it impresses as a standalone product, or can turn any bathroom into an eye-catching environment. So much so, that Interior Design magazine designated it the Best Of recipient in the Bath - Cabinetry category in December 2017. Accessories for Kartell by Laufen, offer a range of vibrant colors, contrasting with the finishes of bathroom furniture.

VAL by Konstantin Grcic
Konstantin Grcic's creative flair, together with his great ability to push new materials and new production methods to their limits, led to the birth of the diverse collection in Saphirkeramik VAL. The collection presents solutions with a simple and functional design which are at the same time highly expressive - underlined with the ceramic in matt white.

SAPHIRKERAMIK
A unique ceramic material with revolutionary high-tech attributes, Saphirkeramik is the result of years of research by Laufen to create a new generation of products. Much thinner and lighter than the traditional ceramic, it boasts extraordinary hardness and strength as well as considerable resistance to bending. Since its development in 2013, the company has involved leading names such as Ludovica and Roberto Palomba, Konstantin Grcic, Toan Nguyen and Patricia Urquiola to explore the potential of the material in lighter and smoother design collections.
